[Mike O'Connor]
Mike's 20-year career in our industry has been concentrated on the delivery of business software systems. He possesses a broad and deep understanding of the issues that can impact on the successful delivery of software solutions, both packaged and bespoke software. His particular area of expertise is in understanding business objectives, choosing the right project approach to minimize risk, moulding the right team with the necessary skills, and managing the project to its successful completion.
[Donald Christie]
Donald left a position as Development Manager to become a founder of Catalyst IT. He has a depth of experience in designing and delivering enterprise class solutions to a range of customers and is in the process of broadening his scope to include environmental management.
Donald has regularly advised on the architecture and designs of complex relational database systems and brings a sound understanding of the issues and technologies that affect the successful deployment of robust, innovative solutions.
[Andrew McMillan]
Andrew has worked at all levels in IT projects from programmer through to IS Manager, designing, implementing and managing systems for accounting, property management, personnel, payroll, electronic data interchange, executive information, reference documentation, budgeting, Tax Agent management and remote equipment control.
Since joining in the founding Catalyst in 1997 Andrew has been responsible for the overall technical direction of the company, including substantial involvement in the architecture of the ".nz" Shared Registry System and the systems for maintaining the Electoral Roll.
Andrew is also active in the Open Source community as a member of the Debian project, and as the primary developer of an open source CalDAV server.
[Godfrey Fernandez]
Godfrey brings a wealth of experience in the design and delivery of systems distinguished by their complexity of data structures and business logic. As with all the other members of the Catalyst IT team Godfrey comes with in-depth experience in all the phases of the system development life cycle. His specialist area of expertise is the analysis of core and competitive business requirements, the modelling of the processes needed within an organization, and the design of systems to support these requirements.
[Gavin Thompson]
With over ten years experience developing software, Gavin has been involved in the delivery of a wide variety of software systems in the manufacturing, engineering, financial and government sectors. Skilled in software analysis, design and development, Gavin specializes in high transaction, high complexity business systems, where performance and robustness are paramount. A talented and versatile consultant, Gavin can equally perform business process modelling, and when the need arises write communication routines and Unix scripts.
[Paul Waite]
Paul (Doc) Waite's background in physics brings an interesting, if somewhat quirky, approach to IT. As a senior business unit manager he has been responsible for ensuring the delivery of some of New Zealand's largest IT projects. The most recent of these is State Insurance's 2000 policy application using Oracle, PROGRESS and other "Open" systems. Paul's skills cover a breathtaking range of technologies and topics. He has also managed to combine a rabid interest in rugby with the latest Web technologies to produce the award winning [Haka] website.
