Our 4 year relationship with Telecom has evolved to the point where we are key developers, and hosters of their mobile services. TelecomMobile trusts Catalyst to provide R&D services and technology evaluations. They look to Catalyst to provide them with the innovative services they need to complete in a rapidly changing and competitive market.
Catalyst has developed and maintains 10 active services for Telecom Mobile, three of which are "business critical".
Catalyst has developed, host and support much of Telecom Mobile's services (WAP and SMS) provided across their CDMA network. Technologies used include: Perl, PHP, PostgreSQL, XML, Apache, OpenBSD and Debian.
Catalyst designed, developed and now host and maintain a significant part of Telecom’s mobile services across their CDMA network.
Outsourced services we now provide are:
- Application Support and Maintenance
- System Hosting and Administration – including remote administration
- Hardware Support and Maintenance
- Security monitoring and management
- Network Monitoring and Support
- Remote management of hardware and applications
- End-to-end System & Network, Management and monitoring
Catalyst has a support and maintenance agreement with Telecom for 24x7 support for 10 active systems including three business-critical systems. Most of these systems are hosted by Catalyst. One is hosted at Telecom Advance Solutions centre in Auckland with Catalyst providing remote support.
Catalyst monitor and report on the security, availability and performance of the systems. In the case of SMS based services this monitoring includes round-trip monitoring which tests the availability and performance of Telecom's mobile network.
The Telecom systems are complex, multi-layered and often consist of multiple user interfaces and delivery mechanisms (HTML, WAP and SMS). They are required to interface to several Telecom systems for provisioning and billing purposes.
