OpenPolyThe Open Polytechnic of New Zealand has moved to the open source content management system Plone for its main corporate website, relaunched this week. The site, developed by Catalyst IT, uses the latest version of the popular CMS.

"The Open Polytechnic teaches nearly 30,000 students nationwide by distance learning, making the web a critical channel," says Angela Eglinton, the Polytechnic’s Products and Services Manager. "We needed a flexible and robust platform for our operations, and Plone provides that."

In its tenth year as an open source provider, Catalyst had no hesitation recommending Plone.

"Organisations looking for a business-critical solution in this area, would do well to consider Plone." according to Catalyst Director Mike O’Connor. "It really has all the ingredients we look for in an open source project – active and supportive community, clear development roadmap, excellent documentation, quality code."
