Automation Team Lead - New Zealand - Wellington

Catalyst IT is part of a global team of skilled open source technologists, with our HQ situated in Wellington and branches in Auckland, Christchurch, Australia and the UK. We specialise in developing, designing and supporting enterprise grade systems using open source technologies.

This particular role is based in our Wellington office and reports to the Head of QA. You will be responsible for driving adoption of automation and instilling best practice at Catalyst while managing the team capacity to meet client expectations.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate a willingness to help others, be passionate about automation as well as be self motivating; you are someone who is eager to find the optimisation potential in existing automation suites.

It is essential you have strong interpersonal and communication skills as you’ll be directly supporting our clients day to day, as well as our account and project managers by providing internal and external presentations. You will be enthusiastic about mentoring and training others while still providing the technical leadership required.

In this role you will be confident to automate using a range of tools, including open source examples, and be familiar with multiple development languages. You will need to have experience and knowledge of API automation along with android and iOS device automation. Experience within an Agile environment will be key to your success, and exposure to DevOps automation would look great too.

As Catalyst are a champion for open source it is important you have experience or, at least, an understanding of Linux. Experience with containerisation (Docker) would be a definite advantage and the real icing on the cake would be experience with performance automation so please be sure to include these on your CV.
