Catalyst IT is part of a global team of skilled open source technologists, with our HQ situated in Wellington. We specialise in developing, designing and supporting enterprise grade systems using open source technologies. One of our largest offerings here at Catalyst is that we specialise in the design, development and hosting of e-learning platforms. Catalyst are one of Moodle's longest standing partners, co-founders of Totara LMS and core developers and maintainers of the Mahara project.
About the Role
We are expanding our eLearning Consulting team and looking for a Junior eLearning Advisor to offer our clients more support in regards to content creation and training. You will provide support to clients in the environments they use to reach better results for staff and learners, coordinating their wishes and requests and turning them into reality. You will be responsible for supporting and developing effective ongoing relationships between a group of clients and Catalyst to ensure the client receives excellent service. This role also involves engaging in business development tasks and creating opportunities for long term growth. There will be the opportunity to be involved with LMS administration and eLearning course creation.
You will assist to develop and facilitate workshops and training sessions for clients on the effective use of the learning solution they are implementing to reach their goals, and you will also assist with the sales proposal process.
Who are we looking for?
To succeed in the role, it goes without saying that you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to elicit and translate requirements from clients with the ability to both listen carefully and ask the right questions.
You should have great service customer skills, have good attention to detail and follow through on your tasks consistently.
Any of the following would look great on your CV and be an definite advantage:
- Previous exposure to Totara or Moodle LMS
- An understanding of and appreciation for FOSS, as well as some knowledge of software development
- Teaching or training experience
- Basic CSS or Graphic Design abilities
