In the past year, responsibility for the partner programme of Mahara, the open source ePortfolio system, has been transferred to the core project team led by Catalyst. We wanted to re-invigorate and expand this programme to make it more attractive to Mahara support companies as well as other entities.
The new Mahara Partner Programme consists of two tracks to make it simple to participate for all types of organisations:
- Mahara Business Partners: Companies that offer Mahara support services and contribute features, bug fixes or translations to the Mahara code base, or other services to the Mahara community.
- Mahara Supporters: Entities that do not offer commercial Mahara services, but do contribute substantially to the project by organising events, contributing code or engaging in business analysis work or other support activities.
The Mahara Partner Programme is not based on fees, but encourages active contributions by its partners to engage them in the further development of this ePortfolio system servicing its world-wide user base.
Catalyst staff have been the lead developers and maintainers of the Mahara project since its beginning in 2006. Together with contributions from clients and other community members, Catalyst releases two versions of Mahara each year and provides security updates for supported versions. The Catalyst team knows Mahara inside and out. We offer the full range of services around Mahara and support clients not only in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, but world-wide.
