We're delighted to announce that Catalyst has been awarded Best Non-for-profit Project and Best Education & Training Services Project at the 2016 Tōtara Awards.
These awards reflect our passion for eLearning and open source software. We've been a proud Tōtara Partner for some years now, and in that time we've helped numerous clients implement eLearning systems that really work for their organisations.
Best Non-for-profit Project
This award was given for our work with the Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA). This organisation had some very special requirements for their LMS. HLA users are distributed all over the world, especially in humanitarian crisis zones, which means their LMS needs to function well on low bandwidth connectivity. The platform's user interface needs to be intuitive and provide a common experience for users in multiple languages across multiple localised sites. We delivered a customised Tōtara solution, Kaya, to meet these requirements. Read more about Kaya.
Best Education & Training Services Project
This award was given for our work with the University of Canberra. The University needed to deliver a Disability Standards for Education programme, made up of seven courses, to up to 300,000 learners in urban and rural settings across Australia. Our Tōtara solution made the project a success - there are 140,000 registered users so far, with 5,000-10,000 new users signing up each month.
