by Kristina Hoeppner, Mahara Project Lead
On 30 April 2021, Catalyst released a new version of the ePortfolio platform Mahara, which is widely used in Aotearoa and around the world. As primary contributor and maintainer of this open source project, Catalyst incorporates new features into the software regularly and fixes issues as needed. These improvements are then made available to our community twice a year.
For this release, the focus was on helping organisations implement portfolios on a larger scale. Features include: a number of automation possibilities to make portfolios available to particular learners, infrastructure to support annually rolled out portfolios, and management of portfolio submissions to name but a few. We also added features that make using the platform more intuitive.
Catalyst clients and other community members contributed to this new milestone in the 15-year history of Mahara, and we appreciate being a part of many organisations' learning and professional development journey.
Watch the feature release video for an overview of the major new features, and sign up for one of our free online sessions to learn more about them or Mahara in general.
