We’re pleased to part of the https://nztalent.org movement. You might have heard about it in the news - an open letter signed by NZ companies pledging to change the conversation around qualifications and the hiring process.
Signing the letter hasn’t meant any changes for us. We’ve been hiring based on the whole person since the company was founded in 1997.
Our people have a mix of qualifications and skills – some have computer science degrees, others learned their profession on the job or in their spare time. We don’t insist on degrees for everyone as this would mean missing out on some very talented candidates. On the flip side, our University-educated technologists often have specific knowledge and insights gained from their studies. We find that having a balance of both, leads to a wider variety of skills that we can make available for our clients.
It’s a no-brainer, really: people with great skills take many different paths to join us.
