Koha user groups 2024

Koha user groups are when the Koha community can come together to learn about Koha, open source, and libraries. At Catalyst, Rōpū kohinga has three in-person user groups for the start of 2024.

1. Auckland Koha user group

Who can attend?

All are welcome.

What topics will be covered?

This Koha user group will have a day of sharing and learning about Koha and open source for libraries.

When is the Auckland Koha user group?

Monday 12 Feb 2024. 10 am to 4 pm. The event will be in person only.

Where is the Auckland Koha user group?

AUT has offered to host on their AUT City campus.

How do I sign up?

Contact us, and mention if you would like to present on a topic from your library.

If you’re interested in attending a group training/workshop day run by Catalyst, the day after the user group please mention it in your email.

2. Auckland Koha training and workshop

Please note, that this Auckland training and workshop is a follow-up after the first user group of the year.

Who can attend?

Those who attended the Auckland Koha user group on 12 Feb 2024.

What topics will be covered?

A range of topics will be covered including Koha CMS/pages functionality, HTML customisations and tricks for Koha, and Data Sovereignty. Plus, there will be a tutorial on how to insert custom Javascript into Koha and an SQL reports workshop.

When is the Auckland Koha training and workshop?

Tuesday 13 Feb 2024. The time is to be confirmed.

Where is the Auckland Koha training and workshop?

AUT has offered to host on their AUT City campus.

How do I sign up?

3. Wellington-based special libraries group

Who can attend?

All are welcome.

What topics will be covered?

The topics are to be confirmed but are influenced by the topics attendees want to discuss.

When is the Wellington-based special libraries group?

Monday 19 Feb 2024. 9 am – 1 pm. (Subject to change). This event will be in person only.

Where is the Wellington-based special libraries group?

The Parliamentary Library.

How do I sign up?

Email us if you would like to attend, and the team will keep you updated with the agenda and plans. Please mention in your email if you would like to present on any Koha initiatives at your library, big or small, and mention any topics that you would like to hear about.

4. Australian Koha user group?

Watch this space as 2024 progresses! We might book something early for an in-person catch-up around VALA in July 2024.
